  1. p.742-743 Read and Annotate "The Harlem Renaissance" background- at least two margin comments per page
  2. p. 744 Read and Annotate "Countee Cullen"- at least 2 margin comments
  3. p. 745 Read and Annotate Before You Read- circle key terms and summarize their definition in margin
  4. p. 745 "Tableau" Read and paraphrase each stanza in the margin
